More importantly, this exhibition primarily focuses on the Museum of Contemporary Art’s leading art principle. It also focuses on contemporary practices by Aboriginal, Australian and and Torres Strait Islander artists.

Items in this exhibition encourage viewers to trace links between diverse aspects such as opera, cinema, inimitable animated drawings to sculpture and works on paper.

This exhibition by New Zealand artist Yona Lee, has been created to fit the gallery space. A structure created using stainless steel pipes to create a network taking us through various zones of public and private space. Adding to these pipes, you can find every items found out in the world. If you are musically inclined, you might just find hints of notes in the structure of this exhibition.

Using her skills as a painter to capture the living landscape, transformed and re-imagined into a very personalised artistic vision. This beautiful exhibition spans Marawili’s career, focusing on the last 5 years.

Melanesian Art: Redux

This incredible exhibition is one of the most comprehensive when it comes to Pacific art. The first pieces of Pacific art, came to the gallery in 1962 thanks to Tony Tuckerson. Since then, it has grown to over 370 pieces of art. From Papua New Guinea, Torres Strait, Solomon Islands and may more places in the Pacific. This exhibition is a selection of pieces to celebrate Tony Tuckerson’s achievement in sharing Pacific art with Australian’s and the world.
