Robyn Stacey: Ray of Light

Step into this exhibition where South Australia is shown and portrayed in a way you have probably never seen before, using the camera obscura, which is an optical device of wonder.

Touring this exhibition, you’ll find eight large-scale camera obscura photographs, taken from well known sites around Adelaide, ranging from the Brookman Building, Carrick Hill, The Lighthouse Wharf Hotel and many other places in South Australia.

This wonderful exhibitions will tour fourteen regional galleries around South Australia so if you miss this one in Adelaide, it will be showing at other galleries.

Export Empire: Japan and the modern world

Creative and artistic innovation from the Meji era. This exhibition explores an era of transformation that took place in Japan. In their art as well as their culture which coincided with changes within the political and industries as well. These changes forged the Japan we know today. This era is known as the Meji era which spanned the 1868 – 1912 and it was the emergence of innovation, creation and extravagant exports for Western tastes. It created a craze for Japanese art as well as culture.

Quilty

This amazing exhibition features a wonderfully new collection of artworks by one of Australia’s most acclaimed contemporary artists, Ben Quilty. Many of his works featured have been created from reflections of his own life experiences, initiation rituals, experience as an official war artist in Afghanistan, Australian landscapes and much more, including very raw portraits of himself and those close to him.
