Terracotta Warriors and Cai Guo-Qiang

This fabulous dual presentation brings together the past and the present in terms of Chinese art and culture. The Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality, showing China’s past alongside a fabulous exhibition by one of China’s exciting upcoming contemporary artists, Cai Guo-Qiang.

Not only will you get to see eight terracotta warriors alongside two full sized horses and bronze chariots. There will also be more than 150 incredible treasures from Chinese art. While the exhibition The Transient Landscape by artists Cai Guo-Qiang exposes traditional Chinese materials from gunpowder to porcelain and paper to silk. Using these materials and more to present the history, places and culture to showcase the landscape which was the backdrop to China’s first emperor, also around the time of the terracotta warriors.

The focus of this lovely exhibition is a selection of works that were recently entered in the Sydney Quilt Show 2019. The exhibition is presented by QuiltNSW in Gallery 76 along with support from the Embroiderers Guild New South Wales.
